The present invention relates to improvements made to plant tanks which have a water reserve and which function by the capillarity principle. The tank to which the invention relates is composed of a container provided with a grille 1 arranged above the bottom in order to support the soil in its upper part while providing a lower space which constitutes a reserve for water. It is characterised in that it comprises several cloths or wicks 2 which are independent of each other, held in place below the grille 1 and dipping into the water reserve. Each cloth or wick 2 can be lifted individually above the water reserve by means of a small board 7 which can slide into a slit 4 provided in the wall of the tank. <IMAGE>
