摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To provide such a fluid bearing for an extruder or the like, in which screw shafts are optionally displaced in the axial direction to alter the degree of mixing and/or kneading, that the screw shafts can be easily displaced not only in loaded operation but also in non-loaded operation. CONSTITUTION:Gears 23, 23' engaged with each other are secured on the ends of two screw shafts 21, 21' of an extruder. The screw shafts 21, 21' can be displaced by the same quantity in the axial direction together with a bearing box 20. Piston shafts 24, 24' provided with several pairs of steps 25 (25a-25c, 25a'-25c'), 26 (26a-26c, 26a'-26c'), the diameters of which are different from each other, are coupled to the gears 23, 23'. The interior sections of a cylinder 27 corresponding to the large-diameter steps 25 are divided by them to define discharge chambers 30a-30c, 30a'-30c' on the steps 25 at the side of the screw shafts 21, 21' and pressurizing chambers 31a-31c, 31a'-31c' on the steps 25 at the other side. The discharge chambers and the pressurizing chambers are connected to a tank and an oil pressure source through a common discharge passage 37 and a common pressurizing passage 34 respectively.</p>
