A pulsed current of frequency proportional to the speed of rotation of the engine 6 is put into the form of a sine wave and sent to an input-output interface 18 of a microprocessor 16 connected to a memory circuit 17. The microprocessor generates two output signals S2, S3, respectively towards a phase-shifter 19 and towards an amplifier 20 arranged in series in the supply circuit of a loudspeaker 12, which are such that the latter generates anti-noise substantially opposed to the noise generated by the engine 6. Programming is carried out on the basis of tests before fitting the device into the vehicle. Application to the elimination of buzzing in vehicles equipped with a four-stroke four cylinder engine. <IMAGE>
