PURPOSE:To enable the easy changing of an irradiation angle for an electron beam with simple constitution by bringing the outside part of a welding work chamber and the bottom surface of a guide member provided with an electron beam generator into sliding contact with each other by means of a rotary sliding surface via a vacuum seal. CONSTITUTION:A welding work chamber 6c of an arched cylindrical shape of which the top surface serves as a rotary sliding surface has an opening 16c in the top part and the size thereof is determined by the max. radius A of welding and the max. angle theta of inclination of beam. A cylindrical linear guide 14 having a sliding surface 14a that permits the linear movement of an electron beam generator 1 and an opening 14b through which a beam E passes is disposed slidably on the top surface of the chamber 6c. Therefore, the bottom surface of the guide 14 has a hollow cylindrical surface 14c that can slide along the cylindrical surface of the chamber 6c and is formed with a groove for holding a vacuum seal 15. If an object 2 to be welded is a cylinder, the level of the surface 14a is maintained, and the device 1 is fixed in the position corresponding to the radius A, by which the object is welded. If the welding part of the object 2a to be welded is a circular conical shape, the guide 14 is slid along the top surface of the chamber 6c by the angle theta which is a half of the vertical angle in the fitted circular conical parts of the cylindrical bodies 3a, 4a. |
