PURPOSE:To prevent titled sticking of slag, by spraying successively water from water sprayers toward the surface of table rolls by following up to the traveling of a melt cutter for transverse slitting of a slab. CONSTITUTION:A slab 2 which is conveyed with conveyance table rolls 1 is stopped in the midway, and is lifted with a lifter 4. The slab is transversely cut with a cutter 3 in the position where the slab is lifted. Slag scatters and sticks on the roll 1 in this stage. When the nozzle 10 of the cutter comes over the roll 1, the slag sticks straightly onto the roll. A striker 8 is mounted to the cutter 3 in this case and a limit switch 9 corresponding to the same is provided. A regulation valve 7 for a water feed piping 6 is opened or closed with a limit switch 9 operating according to the traveling of the cutter 3 to spray water only on the surface of the roll 1 stuck thereon with the slag, whereby the sticking on the slag is prevented. |
