PURPOSE:To improve the electrolyte leakage-proof characteristic of a battery, by improving the paralleism error of the plane formed by the anode material face with reference to the bottom face of the metal case. CONSTITUTION:The plane P formed by the surface of the anode material 3 is adapted so that its parallelism error with reference to the bottom face PD of the metal case 1 is kept within a limit, that is, the gap f between both faces is kept within 1/250 of the diameter of the metal case. Therefore, the sealing pressure is adapted to develop uniformly and the electrolyte leakage-proof characteristic is thus much improved. The smaller parallelism error between the face of the anode material and the bottom face of the metal casing can be concretely provided by setting the upper and lower dies in small parallelism error with reference to each other, by adjusting the scraper plate put in the die so as not to cause any uniformed distribution of the powder material in the die, and so forth, naturally including the process of rubbing off. |
