PURPOSE:To provide a double-cylinder type hydraulic shock absorber for rear wheel which improves the stability of operation of an automobile by such an arrangement wherein a valve which is constantly applied with force in the direction of opening by a spring is provided in a flow passage interconnecting an operating chamber inside an inner cylinder and a subchamber between the inner cylinder and outer cylinder, and the valve is arranged so that it is closed in connection with braking operation. CONSTITUTION:As the pressure of oil in a brake circuit rises by braking operation of an automobile, the pressure of oil in the operating chamber 40 of a valve 14 is caused to rise through a conductive pipe 41 and the piston 25 of a valve body 20 is pressurized and the valve 20 is moved in the direction of an arrow and a flow passage 4 is closed by a valve sleeve 21. The interconnection between a subchamber 3 and an operating chamber A is shut off and the operation of a shock absorber is locked. Consequently, the posture of a car body before braking can be maintained while it is applied with braking, and the stability of operation of the car can be improved. |
