摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To ensure the recycling operation of a collector, in a method by which carbon particles collected by a collector from exhaust gas are incinerated and recycled, by providing a bypass passage passing around the collector and by controlling the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the collector at 2 constant level during the recycling time. CONSTITUTION:A particle collector 3 is interposed between an inlet pipe 1 connected to the exhaust port of an internal combustion engine, and an outet pipe 2, while the inlet pipe 1 and the outlet pipe 2 are connected to each other by a bypass pipe 6. The inlet pipe 1 and the bypass pipe 6 are provided with interposed valves 9 and 10 respectively, and opening/closing operation of these valves are controlled independently by diaphragm units 13 and 14 respectively. Diaphragm chambers 16 and 17 of the diaphragm units 13 and 14 are connected respectively ports (a) of negative pressure control valves 20 and 21 which are controlled by a control unit 25. This control unit 25 controls the opening/closing operation of the valves 9 and 10 in an interlocked manner when the recycling operation of the collector is started by electrifying an electric heater 5, so that prescribed quantity of exhaust gas flows through the collector 3 regardless of the operation state of the engine.</p>
