<p>Apparatus for manufacturing a plastic bag from a tube (32) of plastic material, in which one face of the formed bag is provided with transverse perforation and the opposite face is provided with a transverse cut. The apparatus achieves this result by use of a slotted anvil plate (38) positioned in the tube adapted to co-operate with perforating means (42) positioned on one side of the tube (32) of plastic material, and with cutting means (40) positioned on the other side of the tube. Also provided is the novel construction of bag produced and a method of presenting such bags for easy filling with articles such as goods purchased at supermarket type retail outlets. </p> |
