The top-pan spring balance has a pan carrier guided in parallel by two links. One of the two links is designed in its extension as a pointer and is arranged within the housing directly behind the transparent scale carrier which, together with the further housing parts, forms a housing closed relative to the outside. The housing is preferably of two-shell design, the scale carrier consisting of a resilient material.
