A partition element, particularly an accordion door panel (1) is comprised according to the invention of two plates (11, 12) connected together along at least three ridges to form a self-carrying box with an inner space (14). The inner plate (12) has a protuberant edge (121) parallel to the plate surface obtained from the plate by two mitre joints (122) of opposite directions. The outer plate (11) is provided with an in-turned edge formed by two mitre joints (112) having the same direction, of which the C shape surrounds the protuberant edge (121) of the inner plate (12). The inner space (14) may be filled with a fire proof and/or thermally insulating and/or sound insulating material. The inner space (14) may further contain a high resistance sleeve (4) which improves the security against burglary and/or a lock mechanism with a plurality of locking points.
