To facilitate the hoisting of the mast (2) or the sail (6) of a windsurfing board, an auxiliary mast (7) is provided which is attached to the mast (2) in an articulated manner and carries at its top end a rope pulley (10) which can be actuated by a crank (12). The end (13) of the rope (11) is fastened to the wishbone (5). When the mast (2) is tipped, the auxiliary mast (7) is put into a favourable position and is held firmly by the hand, and the crank (12) is actuated so that the wound rope (11) hoists the mast (2) and thus the sail (6).
