The subject matter of the invention is an arrangement for controlling the temperature of a motor vehicle passenger compartment, having a cooling circuit, containing a warm water heat exchanger, for the motor vehicle engine and/or an air-conditioning system with a compressor and optionally provided ventilator. An electrically controlled shut-off valve can be connected into the feed line of the cooling circuit to the warm water heat exchanger and optionally a relay switch is connected into the electrical feed line to the ventilation system and/or to the compressor of the air-conditioning system, said valve and switch being connected, together with a temperature sensor arranged in the passenger compartment and a temperature reference value signal generator, to a control device which opens and closes the electromagnetic shut-off valve, or switches the air-conditioning system on and off, as a function of the desired temperature of the passenger compartment.
