PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly exchange a used tool with a new tool, by clamping the new tool which comes to a predetermined position after the used tool is dropped forward. CONSTITUTION:Tools 4 such as drills, reamers, taps, end mills and the like are stacked one upon another in a magazine 2 located in the rear of a spindle 4. A push-out rod 3 pushes one of the tools 1 into a hole in the spindle 4, and it pushes out a used tool So that the tool 1 is secured by means of a chuck 5 at a predetermined position while the used tool is dropped forward. When the push-out rod 3 completes its retraction, the tools 1 in the magazine 2 are lowered as a whole by a distance corresponding to one of the tools. A stopper 7 is used to located tools having different lengths, and is pushed out to the position, after the used tool 7 is dropped forward, to abut against the front end of a new tool 1. After the new tool is located, the stopper 7 is moved away therefrom. |
