Fluid such as aviation fuel flows from inlet 9 to outlet 10 through cylindrical filter elements 15 to 17, which are located in tubes 11 to 14 projecting through a tube plate 3. The inlet ends of the tubes form seats for respective valves 25 to 28, which are urged by spring pressure to close the inlet end of any tube from which a filter element has been omitted (tube 14). The valves are carried by a common plate 21 which is slidably supported on a rod 33 projecting from plate 3. When housing end cover 7 is removed, the plate 21 and valves may be withdrawn to allow access to the elements. A spring-loaded latch 39 prevents the cover from being replaced without plate 21 and the valves in place.

|
