PURPOSE:To enable the supply of electric power simultaneously with transmission of light information and illumination light by providing longitudinally a power feeder on the outside circumference of the protective sheath of a cable core consisting of an optical fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A protective sheath 3 is covered on a cable core 1 consiting of an optical fiber bundle 2, and a power feeder 4 is provided longitudinally along the outside circumference of the sheath 3. The feeder 4 is formed of copper wires 5a, 5b, and a sheath 6 covered integrally on the outside thereof. Such optical fiber cable is connected to a terminal apparatus 20, and in the case of supplying electric power simultaneously with transmission of light to the apparatus 20, the feeder 4 is separated by a required length from the sheath 3. The core 1 is then connected to an optical fiber connector 21 disposed to the apparatus 20 and the copper wires 5a, 5b of the feeder 4 is connected to the terminal disposed in the prescribed position in the apparatus 20. |
