PURPOSE:To increase production rate, remarkably reduce fermentation time and obtain 2-ketogluconic acid, by cultivating a microorganism capable of producing 2-ketogluconic acid in a culture medium containing an added specific fatty acid, etc. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, e.g. Pseudomonas fluorescens, etc., is inoculated into a culture medium containing >=0.1wt% 6-12C fatty acid, e.g. carpoic acid, or a derivative thereof, e.g. sorbitan monolaurate, glucose, urea, MgSO4, vitamin B1, etc., and cultivated at 20-37 deg.C and 5-8pH under aerobic condition for 7-20hr. The resultant culture is then centrifuged to give a filtrate, which is concentrated, purified and crystallized. |
