PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a photoreceptor and the running of a picture even after many copies are taken by specifying the wavelength of light of a cleaning lamp for illuminating the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning lamp 11 consists of a halogen lamp 12 and a red- transparent filter 14 provided behind the halogen lamp 12. Light from the halogen lamp 12 is absorbed selectively by the red-transparent filter 14 to irradiate the photoreceptor 13 with only light with 5,500-8,000Angstrom . The residual charge is earthed onto the photoreceptor 3 by said light and disappear. Consequently, the photoreceptor does not deteriorate even when exposed repeatedly and the running of a picture is eliminated. |
