PURPOSE:To eliminate a brush trace phenomenon and improve picture quality, and to prevent a toner from scattering by providing a developing roll which attracts a developer and develops an electrostatic latent image at the downstream side of a developing part. CONSTITUTION:The conductive developing roll 20 made of stainless steel, etc., is arranged at the downstream side of the developing part A in a developing container 11 and applied with a potential lower than the positive potential of a conductive sleeve 12. The developer toner is stirred and electrostatically charged by the rotation of the sleeve 12 and attracted to the surface of the developing roll 20 biased positively. This toner is not rubbed against the surface of the electrostatic latent image on a charge holding member 2a, but scattered to be attracted, performing development. Therefore, the brush trace phenomenon due to rubbing is prevented to improve the picture quality and the need for an opening part is eliminated, so toner scattering is prevented. |
