The device is of the type comprising at least one measuring sensor of the analogue type, a unit for the digital processing of the signals emitted by the sensor and an analogue/digital conversion interface interposed between the sensor and the processing unit. According to the invention, in this device the analogue/digital conversion of the level measurements is carried out by measuring the time which a capacitor takes to charge to a voltage equal to that which is present at the terminals of the sensor and the measurement of which is to be processed and displayed.
