PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst for gas phase oxidation of butane, by containing one kind of dodecamolybdophosphoric acid salt of Cr or the like as an active component. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of dodecamolybdophosphoric acid salt of Cr, K, iron, NH4, Bi, Zr or Cs is contained to prepare a catalyst for gas phase oxidation of butane. There is no special limit with respect to a method for preparing this catalyst but it is easily obtained by a method wherein the crystal of dodecamolybdophosphoric acid (H3PMo12O40) is usually dissolved in water and a predetermined amount of ammonia or a metal salt is added under stirring to the obtained solution while water is evaporated from the reaction solution. In addition, a carrier is not necessarily required, but because dodecamolybdophosphate is poor in mechanical strength and easily converted to a powder, it is usually used by supporting the same by a proper carrier such as alumina. Usually, it is supported in an amount of about 0.1-2pts.wt. on the basis of 1pts.wt. of the carrier and, according to necessity, after supporting, the supported carrier is pref. baked for several hr at 100-400 deg.C in an oxidative atmosphere. |
