PURPOSE:To correct the result of reading of a character and to prevent the error in character recognition, by replacing a sensor output with the scanning data of a preceding sensor when the sensor output keeps the same value and then is changed. CONSTITUTION:A logical value corresponding to the white/black part of an area for one character's share is read with plural bits of sensors of a reading section 1 with the control of a control section 9 of a character reading system and stored in a reading data memory 3. Vertical and horizontal projecting circuits 4, 6 are operated with the control of the control section at a data processing section 8 and n-bit's share of Y and X data is stored respectively in vertical and horiznontal projecting registers 5, 7. Further, the processing section 8 reads sequentially data from the registers 5, 7, and when the sensor output is changed after keeping the same value, the sensor output is replaced with the scanning data of the preceding sensor at a data correcting circuit 2, to correct the result of reading of the character, allowing to prevent misrecognition of the reading character. |
