NEW MATERIAL:N-(2,6-difluorophenyl)anthranilic acid of formula I and its salt. USE:It has strong antiphlogistic and analgesic activities and is useful as a drug. PROCESS:The 2,6-difluoroaniline of formula II is made to react with the 2-halogen-substituted benzoic acid derivative of formula III (X is halogen) in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst such as copper powder and an acceptor of hydrogen halide produced by the reaction (e.g. K2CO3) at 80-200 deg.C to obtain the objective compound of formula I . Any organic solvent meets the purpose provided that it has no inhibitory action to the reaction, and examples of the solvent are ethanol, butanol, etc. |
