<p>The lens hood is clipped over the objective tube on the camera using a profiled end which is wide enough to accept optical filters. The filter is held in place by a special setting wheel (9) which is positioned in the side of the lens hood, with its axis inclined to the optical axis. The wheel is held against the edge of the filter by a spring (11) and when the filter is not fitted the wheel is set at its innermost setting inside the lens hood. The outer edge of the filter has a plastics surface which is easily gripped by a friction 'O' ring (12) on the outside of the wheel.</p> |
