PURPOSE:To transport an object to be inspected without flattering and transport it with its surface to be inspected keeping at a prescribed position even if the thickness of the object varies. CONSTITUTION:When an object to be inspected 4 such as a laminated board covered by copper is transported forwardly by a transportation conveyer 12, the object to be inspected 4 enters between a fixed roller 1 and a movable roller 2, is advanced forwardly by being gripped between the fixed roller 1 and the movable roller 2, inspected by a contact type image sensor 11, and discharged by a discharge conveyer 13. When the object to be inspected 4 is transported by being gripped between the fixed roller 1 and the movable roller 2, it does not flutter because it is elastically gripped. In addition, since the movable roller 2 moves upwardly and downwardly, the object to be inspected 4 can be transported even if its thickness varies, and the fixed roller 1 can keep a surface to be inspected at a constant distance with respect to the image sensor 11.
