Quartz thermometer

Quartz thermometer delivering a signal whose frequency is a substantially linear function of the temperature. The thermometer comprises a tuning fork fitted with electrodes (12 to 15) and (12' to 15') located respectively on the edges of the upper and lower faces of the arms (8) and (10) of the tuning fork. These electrodes are supplied in order to make the tuning fork vibrate torsionally. The arms (8) and (10) are substantially parallel to the X axis of the quartz crystal. The direction perpendicular to the faces of the tuning fork makes an angle theta with the Z axis of the crystal. The angle theta is between -30 DEG and +30 DEG . <IMAGE>
