Open, stackable boxes (10 A, B, C) for storage or transport of articles, such as meat pieces, are stacked on each other so that the box stacked above (C) covers the box (B) immediately under in the stack, at which the uppermost box (C) in the stack is covered with a lid (40). The boxes each present at least two fixed straps (15) of which each has at least one head (16). The head (16) is fixed at such a distance from the fixing point (14) for the strap (15) to the box (B) that the strap (15) can be placed around the upper edge of the box closest to the top of the stack (C) so that the head (16) is placed just inside of the upper edge of this, at which the lid (40) which closes in the head of the closest upper box (C) is connected to the uppermost box in the stack (C) by means of a sealing device (50).
