PURPOSE:To obtain a toner enhanced in image characteristics and life, by using a ferrite having Ba and/or Sr partially substd. by another mono- or di-valent metal, and a specified value or more in each of electric resistance and saturation magnetization. CONSTITUTION:The ferrite has a composition of a magnetoplumbite structure of a hexagonal system ferrite represented by formula I in which Me is Ba or Sr, having its metal being substd. by at least one kind of monovalent or 3 or more valent metal, or a compsn. of a Z type of formula II belonging to the hexagonal system ferrite of MeFe12O19 represented by formula II, or Y type of formula III(Me being same), its Ba and/or Sr being substd. by at least one of mono-valent or 2 or more valent metal. A carrier among these ferrites having >=10OMEGAcm resistivity, and >=10emu/g saturation magnetization value, and 10-1,000mum average particle diameter is used. As a result, a carrier superior in image characteristics and long in life is obtained. |
