PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of noise by a method in which a combustion chamber is made up of the tiered portion of a ramof a tiered form and a cylinder and a mixed gas is exploded in the combustion chamber to drive the ram. CONSTITUTION:A tiered ram 3 is dropped into upper and lower cylinders 1 and 2, and when the lower end of the large-diameter portion of the ram 3 passes through gas suction and exhaust ports 16 and 16', air in the space 12 is compressed and also a fuel from a fuel jet nozzle 13 is blown into the space 12. When the tip of the small-diameter portion of the ram 3 collides on an anvil 5 through a buffer material 4 to drive a pile into the ground, explosion occurs in and around the tiered portion and by its pressure the ram 3 is pushed upwards. When the ram 3 goes up and the lower end of its large-diameter portion passes through the gas suction and exhaust ports 16 and 16' provided with a sound- proof wall, combustion gas is discharged from the ports 16 and 16'. |
