PURPOSE:To enable to appropriately change the gap between the inside peripheral surface of a cylinder and a mandrel even in operation, by a method wherein a gap-adjusting member is so fitted that it can be slidden in the axial direction, and a movable device capable of being so positioned as to maintain the gap- adjusting member with a predetermined gap is provided. CONSTITUTION:In a shear heater wherein the gap (d) between the cylinder 1 and the mandrel 2 is used as an extruding passage for a high polymeric material, the outside peripheral surface 4 of the mandrel 2 is formed in the shape of a truncated cone, the gap-adjusting member 6 provided with a tapered inside peripheral surface 7 so formed as to correspond to the outside peripheral surface 4 of the mandrel 2 is fitted to the inside peripheral surface 9 of the cylinder 1 so that it can be slidden in the axial direction, and the movable device 10 capable of being so positioned as to maintain the member 6 with the predetermined gap (d) is provided. Accordingly, it is enabled to extremely easily change the gap (d) even in operation, and optimum working conditions can be obtained. |
