Method for prodn. of polymerisable and/or hardenable prods. according to DT 2323936, by reaction of phenols, amines and formaldehyde, the phenols having >=20 OH-substd. aromatic ring systems per molecule or the amines >=2 NH2 gps. per molecule, the ratio of amine to phenol reacted being 0.25 to 1.6, pref. 0.25 to 1.1. Mols. NH2 gps. per mol. phenolic OH gps. and the amt of HCHO reacted lying within a defined area of a 2 dimensional graphic representation whose abscissae corresp. to the ratio Mol. HCHO/Mol phenolic OH and whose ordinate. corresp. to the ratio Mols NH2 gps/Mols phenolic OH gps. The prods. can be used to form aqs. dispersions, for use as adhesives, surface coating agents, additives for rubber and for prodn. of prepegs or moulding powders.
