OPTICAL SHUTTER ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical shutter element of simple constitution which supplies a sufficient quentity of light and suits to an optical printer, by using an electrooptic element which is in such a shape that it operates as a specific lens. CONSTITUTION:One surface of the electrooptic element 18 such as a light transmittive PLZT provided with electrodes 25-29 forms a semicylindrical light condensing part 19 and further serves as a lens; and couples of electrodes 25- 29 are fed with electricity to condense light transmitted through the element 18 between the couples of electrodes 25-29. This simple constitution allows the supply of a sufficient quantity of light to obtain the optical shutter which suits to a high-speed optical printer.
