PURPOSE:To form a resin surface having 0.03-0.05mum max. height of projection, and to improve the sliding strength of a head disc to a medium by spin-coating a thermosetting resin on an aluminum substrate, then curing the resin. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl butyral resin is mixed, stirred and dispersed. The resin is put in a ceramic pot, and an epoxy resin and a phenolic resin are added thereto. A solvent is further added thereto. Zirconium balls are then put into the ceramic pot. The mixture is subjected to kneading with a ball mill. The ball- mill-kneaded matter (epoxy-phenol-polyvinyl butyral resin) 2 is spin-coated on both surfaces of an aluminum substrate (4mm. thickness, 14 inch, 8 inch, 5 inch diameters) which is ground upon ending of the kneading. The substrate is rotated for 70sec at 200rpm first then for 20sec at 1,500rpm to shake off thoroughly the kneaded matter. The substrate is heated for 2hr at 150 deg.C to cure the resin. The thickness of the resin is made larger than the ruggedness of the Al substrate, usually 1mum. |
