<p>PURPOSE:To permit the collection of wind and control of revolving number of the wind mill in accordance with the strength of the wind by a method wherein a wind collecting and revolution controlling board, having an aerofoil section, is provided on both sides of the upper and lower parts of the rotary shaft of the vertical shaft wind mill or one side thereof through a pitch control mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the blade 1 of the wind mill are attached to the upper and lower parts of the rotary shaft 2 respectively. The upper part of the rotary shaft 2 is held in substantially vertical by wires 4 through a bearing 3, and a power, obtained by the blade 1 of the wind mill, is converted into electricity in a machine room 5 attached to the lower part of the rotary shaft 2. The upper and lower parts of said rotary shaft 2 are provided with the wind collecting and revolution controlling boards 7, 9 through the pitch control mechanisms 6, 8 respectively. Each boards 7, 9 are formed into the shape of the aerofoil and an angle between each boards 7, 9 and the advancing direction thereof is changed by rotating a shaft 11 by the mechanisms 6, 8 in accordance with the revolving speed thereof. According to this method, the output of the wind mill is increased upon weak wind by collecting the wind while the output of the wind mill is increased upon weak wind by collecting the wind while the output of the wind mill is limited upon strong wind by dispersing the wind.</p> |
