The module is intended for combining with similar modules to provide controllable movements in different directions in an industrial robot assembly. It comprises a longitudinal housing (2) contg. four parallel rods on which a member is slidable, e.g. by a built-in d.c. motor with incremental control facility. - The member has an exposed portion (3) movable in a rectangular cut-out in one housing wall, the remainder of this cut-out being covered by a concertina-folded seal (4). Modules are combined by securing their actuator portions (3) together or by securing the housing end face of one to the portion (3) of another module. FL(1/3)
