The walls are constructed using interengaging blocks which require little or no intermediate mortar. The separate layers of the wall are secured together using reinforcing ladders made up of two uprights which are interconnected e.g. by spacers. The uprights bear against one or more faces of the blocks or engage into anchorage grooves disposed on one or more faces of the block. - The uprights pref. consist of hollow tubes containing slots into which the spacers locate. The diameter of the tubes is pref. equal to or slightly smaller than the width of the grooves arranged in one or more faces of the blocks.(1/3)
