PURPOSE:To make it possible to process a bearing hole in each of a main shaft and a sub-shaft easily by a method wherein in the cases of a sub-locker arm and a main locker arm for interlocking valve stems to sub- and main cam shafts, the sub-shaft is provided in a plane normal to the main shaft. CONSTITUTION:An air intake valve 3 and an air exhaust valve 4 are attached to a combustion chamber in a cylinder head with the valve stems 3a and 4a of the valves held to extend in the radial direction. These valve stems 3a and 4a are connected to the cam shaft 10 through the sub-locker arm 5 and the main locker arm 6. In this case, the shaft 8 of the sub-locker arm 5 is arranged parallel to a plane intersecting the shaft 7 of the main locker arm 6 at right angles. As a consequence, the bearing holes in the shafts 7 and 8, respectively, are processed orthogonally so that the positioning of the holes at the time of processing can be made easily and the precision of processing can be increased. |
