PURPOSE:To reduce a sliding friction resistance of an opener cable so that the handle manipulating ability of a remote control means is made satisfactory, by connecting the rear end part of a latch in a lock mechanism to one end side of a lever, and as well by linearly connecting the one end of an opener cable to the other end side of the lever. CONSTITUTION:In order to release a lock from its locking condition, as shown by the chain line, an opener cable 15 connected in a straight line with a lever 33 is pulled by manipulating a remote control handle arranged in a vehicle compartment, so that the rear end part 33b of the lever 33 rotatably disposed by means of a pin 35 in a lock casing 3 is rotated clockwise about the pin 35 as a fulcrum while a latch 7 which is connected to an enlongated hole 37 in the front end part 33a of the lever 33 through a push rod 29, is simultaneously retracted, and therefore, the latch 7 releases its engagement with the striker 11. Further, there is disposed a coil spring 31 for normally urging the latch 7 in the direction in which the latch projects from the lock casing. |
