PURPOSE:To obtain a single crystal having low composition segregation and uniformly controlled crystal orientation, by bringing a ferrite of single crystal into contact with a ferrite of polycrystal under pressure, heat-treating them, followed by heat-treating the ferrite of polycrystal in a reducing atmosphere at an equilibrium oxygen partial pressure. CONSTITUTION:Ferrite A-1 of single crystal for seed is brought into contact with ferrite A-2 of polycrystal having the same composition as it or a composition approximating it and the same structure. 5-500kg/cm<2> pressure is applied to the contact face A-3, they are heat-treated at about 1,300-1,400 deg.C, the solid-phase reaction at the interface of the two ferrite is induced so that both the ferrites are bonded. The ferrite A-2 of polycrystal is placed in a reducing atmosphere at 20-10<-6>% oxygen partial pressure, heat-treated, so that the ferrite A-2 of polycrystal is made into a single crystal. Consequently, the ferrite A-1 of single crystal can be mass produced at high speed in high yield. |
