PURPOSE:To surely hold the locking condition of an opening and closing member upon opening for preventing fuel from being stolen, by forming an engaging hole in either one of a striker and a latch, for receiving the other one. CONSTITUTION:When a lid 9 is opened in such a condition that a latch 7 projects from the front end of a lock casing 3 as shown by a solid line, a striker 11 attached to the lid 9 enters into the inside of a car and the inclined part 11b of an engaging part 11b formed in the front end part of the striker 11 abuts against an inclined surface 7a. The pressing force of the striker 11 in the entering direction thereof causes the latch 7 to be pulled in the direction opposite to the direction P, overcoming the resilient force of a spring 33, and when the engaging part 11a of the striker 11 is fitted and engaged in an engaging hole 27, the latch 7 is returned to the position indicated by the solid line, by the resilient force of the spring 33, thereby the peripheral part of the engaging hole 27 and the engaging part 11 are surely locked together. |
