Basket for dishwashing machine - of openwork moulded plastics with separate bottom of coarse mesh to permit free drainage of water

The basket (1) is moulded from plastics and is used inside a dish washing machine. It is rectangular in cross section with vertical extension (6) each end for handling and support. The upper portion (10) of the basket has an open work construction, the openings (7) being approx. 6mm square to permit entry of liq. The lower portion (9) is of similar construction, the openings being approx. 3 mm square. The bottom is a separate piece, comprising a plastics or stainless steel mesh hving openings 2 mm square. Support bars are provided and the mesh size permits free discharge of water without its retention due to capillary action.
