PURPOSE:To prevent oblique feed of roll paper in a paper feeder employed in a xerographic copier, by cutting the roll paper such that the cutting end face will be perpendicular with the paper feeding direction while holding with correct position by means of a gripper. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower buffles 4, 5 are extended toward a cutter 9 to reduce the gap (S) considerably while first and second edge sections 81, 82 are formed on a rotary cutter 8 while shifting the phase by 180 deg.. The loop section to be produced when cutting the roll paper 1 will be reduced because the gap (S) between the upper and lower buffles 4, 5 and the cutter 9 is considerably small, to reduce the lateral shift thus to reduce the oblique cutting face 1' when being cut by means of the first cutter section 81. The residual roll paper removed of the loop section is cut by the second cutter section 82 to provide the cutting face 1'' perpendicular with the feeding direction. Consequently it is fed toward the photosensitive member while being held with correct position by means of a gripper 6. |
