PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for storing enormous map information and to reduce cost by forming the map information by an image pickup tube which picks up map images and converts the same to the map information corresponding to the map images. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup tube 9 of a course guiding device is constituted to receive the map magnified by a magnifying lens 8, converts the received map image to digital data and outputs the same as the map information corresponding to said map. The map information which is outputted by the tube 9 and corresponds to the map selected by a selector for said map is synthesized with the information on traveling loci and is displayed on a display, whereby the need for a memory in which enormous map information is stored is eliminated and the cost is reduced. |
