PURPOSE:To obtain a nontoxic and durable recording medium having high sensitivity to light in the near IR region, by bringing an org. thin film into contact with a shifting agent. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer of the recording medium for recording information and reading it by laser beams is constituted with an org. thin film consisting of a phthalocyanine compd. contg. a metal of group IV and a shifting agent. As said metal, Ti, Sn and/or Pb are used, and an org. thin film formed on a substrate, and made of a phthalocyanine compd. contg. said metal, such as titanium phthalocyanine (Ti, Pc), is brought into contact with or dipped in a solvent dissolving at least one kind of shifting agent selected from a group of specified benzene deriv., benzophenone deriv., benzyl deriv., dibenzyl ketone deriv., naphthalene deriv., acenaphthene deriv., acenaphthylene deriv., and diphenyl deriv., resulting in shifting its adsorption wavelength to a longer wavelength side. |
