Device enabling the spit 1 of a spit-turner to be arranged in an oven at an adjustable distance from a grilling element, this distance being chosen as a function of the dimensions of the piece to be roasted. This device comprises a system of gears formed from pinions 16, 17 driving horizontal pins 12, 13, 14 and placed one above the other. The pin 12 is mechanically coupled to the shaft of the motor for driving the spit-turner whose movement is simultaneously communicated to the pins 12, 13, 14. Application: spit with adjustable height for a spit-turner intended to equip a convection oven or an oven with rotary heat (fan oven). <IMAGE>
