PURPOSE:To minimize the capacity of power source by using a system in which when the ratio of print dot numbers to total dot number of usual latter printing is low, printing is made by one-time movement of printing elements, and only when said ratio is high, printing is dividedly made by plural times' movement of printing element. CONSTITUTION:Data (a) from CPU are converted into dot matrix and stored in a dot buffere register 5. In a print dot B counting circuit 8, the number of dots to be printed is counted until a printing start code is received. In a total dot A counting circuit 7, all dot number constituting the matrix, e.g., 48 dots for one letter, is counted for the number of printing digits. When Bdivided by A<40% is detected by a comparator 9, all information for one line is put in a dot lutch circuit 11 by one-time movement of the head, but when Bdivided by A>40% is detected, divided information to be printed for one line is put in the dot lutch circuit 11 by reciprocally two times' movement by a printing control circuit 10, and output is conveyed through a gate 12 to a driver 13. Therefore, high-quality printing can be obtained and also effective printing speed can be obtained at minimized capacity of power source. |
