PURPOSE:To form a worked part with a high grade free from oxidation, etc. in the stage of working thermally a work piece by laser light, by covering the work piece with a glass cover and removing oxygen from the inside then irradiating the laser light through the glass cover. CONSTITUTION:A base 4 provided with a transparent glass cover 3 is placed on a vacuum chamber 2, and a work piece is placed on the base 4. A valve 5 is changed over to communicate the inside of the cover 3 and the chamber 2 and the inside of the cover 3 is evacuated to create the atmosphere contg. extremely little oxygen, whereafter laser light is irradiated from the outside of the cover 3 to work thermally the work piece. Otherwise, a metallic coil 11 vulnerable to oxidation, such as Mg, is disposed together with the work piece 10 in the cover 13. The laser light is first irradiated to the coil 11 to burn the same and after the oxygen in the cover 13 is removed, the laser light is irradiated to the work piece 10, whereby the work piece is thermally worked. Since there is not oxygen, the work piece 10 is worked in the satisfactory state without oxidation. |
