Mechanical peelers of the roller type are made by many different manufacturers and can have numerous different designs. When the rollers are so mounted that a drum is formed, the whole drum rotates, so that the product is well tumbled and all the peel surfaces come into contact with the abrading rollers. When the rollers are so mounted that a vat is formed, the latter is often static. To make the product tumble, the rollers are fitted with elevations and various types of stirrers. The device according to the present invention has a spacing pipe 1 between the rollers 2 (in the direction 4-1547) and can be used in both cases described above. The use of the spacing pipe 1 means that, as mentioned before, the losses with the peels are reduced. The size is variable, especially when products 3 and 4 are to be peeled. <IMAGE> |
