A combination balance which is typically used for packing up a plurality of articles in each bag or the like, so that the total weight of each bag is practically equal to a predetermined reference weight, comprising a plurality of balances for weighing each of the articles at the same time, arithmetical means of choosing some of the said balances, so that the total weight of the articles laid out on them corresponds to a predetermined condition, and means for unloading the chosen balances and for receiving the articles laid out on them, and then for loading them with new articles, respectively, and for initiating the next operational cycle, each balance being accompanied by at least two hoppers for storage and by corresponding memories, and by means for delivering each batch of articles weighed by the corresponding balance to each hopper and supplying each weight of the batches to the corresponding memory, subjecting thereby all the batches of articles contained in all the storage hoppers to the selection for combining the said arithmetical means with the contents of the corresponding memories, so as to improve the efficiency and the accuracy of the weighing without increasing the number of balances which are expensive. <IMAGE>
