<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the sticking of dust, a spark noise, etc., by applying a paint, where a white pigment having a specific particle size is mixed, to the surface of a nonmagnetic base subjected to an antistatic treatment. CONSTITUTION:A paint 2 where 5-100pts.wt. white pigment having a particle size of 0.002- 3.0mu to 100pts.wt. binder is mixed is coated onto the surface of a nonmagnetic base 1 which is subjected to an antistatic treatment and consists of materials superior in transparency, and after drying, the surface roughness of a tape 6 is set to 0.1-1.5mu. The method where a layer consisting of an antistatic agent is provided on the surface of the nonmagnetic base film by application or immersion, the method where the antistatic agent and a conductive resin are added to materials of the nonmagnetic base to form the film or the like is adopted to perform the antistatic treatment. If the particle size of the white pigment exceeds about 3.0mu, the surface is rougher to increase the wear of a head; and if the particle size is smaller than 0.002mu, the cleaning effect is lost. If the proportion of mixture of the white pigment to the binder exceeds 100pts.wt., the adhesive strength and the light transmissivity are degraded and the obtained film is undesirable; and if this proportion is lower than 5pts.wt., the practical cleaning effect is not attained. The electric resistance of a leader tape using the base subjected to the antistatic treatment is lowered considerably in comparison with contrast examples, and this tape is improved in respect to the spark noise.</p> |
